This app was developed by Professor Antonio Guida, a music teacher in Italian middle schools, to offer users (teachers and students) a comprehensive and functional platform for teaching and learning music in schools. The "Teaching" menu, which opens when the application is launched, provides access to the following submenus: "Utilities and Methods," containing utilities, teaching materials and tools, exercises, books for download, lessons relating to civic education, study methods, tutorials, video lessons, and much more; "Music Theory," with video lessons and educational games on the elements of music theory required for the three-year period of middle school; "Organology," which includes video lessons on musical instruments, the human voice, and works by great historical composers that help understand the potential of various instruments; "History of Music," with video lessons organized by topic and/or period, ranging from the origins of music to the post-World War II avant-garde music movements: a section packed with biographies, anecdotes, and curiosities. All video lessons were created by Antonio Guida using language accessible to middle school students and allow for the full application of the "Flipped Classroom" method. Finally, there is a submenu called "Materials for Special Educational Needs," with content related to utilities, teaching materials, and tools, downloadable and printable music sheets, exercises, and lessons in music theory, organology, and music history, selected by Antonio Guida with accessibility criteria for middle school students with special educational needs (SEN).
In addition to the teaching section, you can learn about Antonio Guida's work as a pianist, composer, and educator by navigating the other menus: "About Me," "Critics," "Works," and "Events."
We recommend visiting the desktop version of the following app, at bit.ly/antonioguidadidattica, to access additional music education services, such as the virtual keyboard, metronome, and pre-structured music sheets with clefs and bar lines, ready for use directly on the IWB.
Finally, this application is the most comprehensive in Italy for music education in secondary schools.
