Pathbound is an RPG where your real runs power everything. Every mile you cover in the real world becomes stamina for your hero. Spend it to explore a fantasy world, battle monsters, and bring home loot.

Your first week of play is free, with the whole game open. If Pathbound makes your runs better, a subscription keeps the adventure going.

Pathbound is not a step counter. Record runs right in the app, or sync finished workouts from Health Connect: outdoor runs and treadmill sessions all count.

HOW IT WORKS

Run anywhere: record right in Pathbound, or use any app or watch that saves to Health Connect. Claim your workout in Pathbound to earn stamina. Spend stamina on expeditions: choose your route node by node, fight monsters, trigger strange events, and decide when to push deeper or retreat with your spoils.

A twenty-minute jog is real progress. Consistency beats speed, and the game never punishes a rest day. Whether you are on your first couch-to-5K or training for a marathon, your effort moves your hero forward.

Pathbound connects to Health Connect. It reads your finished exercise sessions and distance to power the game. If you record a run in Pathbound, you can choose to save it to Health Connect too.

Ratings and reviews

The game costs money but it doesn't tell you that. You get a few days free and then you have to pay. I don't appreciate a bait and switch. Edit: the dev claims it tells you this in the app store but it does not. It lists in-app purchases but so do all apps. The only reason I knew it was a free trial was because someone told me. I would've had no idea until the bait- I mean, free trial- was over. The game itself seems fine but I don't support scummy behavior like that.

I'm going to give the developers some real advice here... for a subscription app you HAVE TO PRODUCE. I want this app to do good. I've been waiting for its arrival. I'm going to get the subscription. But if all of the subs doesn't equal better content pretty frequently and quickly now that its out of beta, I will cancel it and undownload. Please do not let this app flop. Create solid content with the money you get. game is solid but not a lot to it so far.

A great running base RPG. I've been playing this game for months since almost the beginning of development and I love it. It's got fun combat and the only way to play more is to go for a run. I've thoroughly enjoyed the extra motivation that this fun game gives for getting out and getting a few more miles in!
