About this app

When someone can no longer use a phone, NightTap gives them a way to call for help with a single touch.

Lay the phone flat under the hand. A short tap is counted, and the number of taps decides what happens:
• 2 taps — a bell that calls for help
• 3 taps — "Yes"
• 4 taps — "No"
• and more phrases, fully configurable

It is made for someone who can move only one finger — for example due to ALS (motor neuron disease) or another neurological condition. No precise aim, no swiping, no reading the screen: just a tap.

Everything is set up by the caregiver:
• Freely map a tap count to an action (bell / speech / bell+speech / emergency)
• Pick the bell sound from the device's own sounds, and how many times it rings
• Speech in Hebrew and English (TTS), or a recorded family voice clip
• Sensitivity calibration for the "ideal press" — even a very weak hand counts correctly
• Emergency call to a device contact (up to two), shown with their photo

Built for 24/7 bedside use:
• A fully black night screen — almost no light, so it won't wake anyone
• Stays on, and is hard to exit by accident (deliberate gesture + caregiver PIN)
• Optional screen lock that blocks accidental exit
• Battery-friendly

Safety note: NightTap is a communication aid, not an approved medical device. Do not rely on it as the only means of calling for help; keep a physical call button and a presence plan as well.

NightTap is a Streamind product.
