About this app

Know if a product is halal before it goes in the basket. Point your camera at the barcode — or straight at the ingredients list — and get a clear answer in seconds.

No account. No typing. No menus to learn. The camera is the app.

⚖️ WE SAY SO WHEN WE'RE NOT SURE

Other halal scanners guess. That's how pork gelatin ends up marked halal. This ingredient checker gives you four honest answers, not two:

🟢 HALAL
Every ingredient we could check is permissible.

🔴 HARAM
Contains something that isn't. We name the ingredient and explain why — like cochineal (E120), a red colouring made from insects.

🟡 UNCERTAIN
An ingredient could be plant or animal and the label doesn't say. We flag it and tell you what to check next.

⚪ NOT CHECKED
The product isn't in our records yet, or the label wouldn't read cleanly. We say so plainly. A gap is never shown as a pass.

📖 WHERE THE VERDICT COMES FROM

The barcode scanner and label reader only extract ingredient names. The halal ruling itself comes from a sourced, auditable reference table — E numbers, additives and common ingredients like gelatin, lard, carmine and alcohol — cross-referenced against bodies like IFANCA and the European Halal Certification Institute. Never an AI's best guess.

📷 WHAT YOU CAN SCAN

Packaged food, drinks, sweets, snacks and household groceries. If a product has no barcode, or it's an import with a foreign one, photograph the ingredients list instead and the app will read it.
