Smart PDA is an internal warehouse application used by Browns Distribution Ltd as part of the TouchBase Transport Management System (TMS).

The app is used on handheld Android PDA devices by warehouse and depot teams to scan and process pallets throughout day-to-day goods in, goods out, and warehouse operations.

Key functions include:

• Manifest Scanning – Scan pallets against inbound and outbound manifests and view progress for each load.

• Quick Scan – Look up pallet or location barcodes and process goods in or goods out activity outside of a manifest.

• Location Management – Assign pallets to warehouse locations or move them between locations using barcode scanning.

• Pallet Exceptions – Record damaged or problem pallets, attach supporting photos, and capture a signature where required.

• Offline Scanning – Continue scanning when network connectivity is unavailable. Scans are stored on the device and synchronised when the connection is restored.

• Warehouse Device Controls – Includes large touch controls, glove mode, adjustable text sizing, haptic feedback, and audible scan confirmation.

• Label Printing – Print job and pallet labels directly from the PDA.

• Live Updates – Receive updates relating to pallet exceptions, manifests, and warehouse activity.

• Multi-Company Access – Supports access to the appropriate TouchBase environment using the relevant company login.

• Application Updates – Updates can be deployed directly to PDA devices without requiring manual installation through an app store.

Smart PDA supports the movement and tracking of pallets across Browns Distribution Ltd warehouse operations and provides up-to-date information between warehouse, depot, and transport teams.
