About this app

Utakata Studio Mobile IDE turns your phone or tablet into a development machine for apps built with the Flutter™ SDK. Write code, see it running as you go, build APKs and app bundles, and keep your work in Git, all on the device itself. No PC, no cloud build server.

EVERYTHING ON THE DEVICE
The Flutter SDK, the Dart™ SDK, a JDK, Android SDK tools and the NDK come with the app and work offline. Start a project from a template (App, Game or Empty app), edit it and build it right on your phone. When you are online, packages that are not included are fetched from pub.dev and Maven repositories, just as on a desktop.

SEE YOUR APP AS YOU CODE
Preview runs the app you are building inside the IDE, either below your code or in its own tab. Save a Dart file and the preview hot reloads in place, keeping the app's state. Web preview adds a second view of your app as a Flutter Web page, which you can also open in your browser.

RUN & BUILD
Pick debug, profile or release, APK or app bundle (AAB), the signing key and the product flavor, then build. You can create a separate upload key for each app. Every build is kept in a history with its version, signing key and size, ready to export or share. To install an APK you have built, open it with your Files app.

GIT BUILT IN
Commit, create branches, review diffs, and push, pull, fetch or clone over HTTPS or SSH. The Git screen can explain each term and show the matching git command. Access tokens are stored encrypted on the device.

POINT AT THE SCREEN, BRIEF YOUR AI
Tap a widget in the preview to jump to the line of code that built it. Circle parts of the screen and add notes, and Mobile IDE turns them into a prompt with source locations plus an annotated image, ready to paste into the AI assistant you already use. Screen Sketch lets you lay out widgets to draw a screen and turns the sketch into a prompt as well.

CONNECT AN AI CODING AGENT
If you run an AI coding agent in a terminal app on the same device, you can connect it to a project over MCP. The agent can read the project files, start and hot reload the preview, look at and tap the running app, and run flutter, dart and git in that project. The connection is off until you turn it on, stays on the device (127.0.0.1, protected by a token) and shows a notification with a Disconnect button while it is on.

TERMINAL AND DEPENDENCIES
A built-in terminal runs flutter, dart, pub and git commands, and can open SSH sessions. The Dependencies screen lets you search pub.dev and add a package in one step, filter the packages on your device by role, remove versions you no longer need, and update a project's dependencies with a backup you can roll back to.

BEFORE YOU INSTALL
- Requires a 64-bit (arm64) device running Android 9 or later, with at least 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended). The development tools take up several GB of storage.
- The debug engine (needed for Preview), common plugins, code generation tools and the Web preview components are extra components. Add them from Settings when you need them. They are downloaded from their official sources: Flutter's servers, Google Maven, Maven Central, pub.dev and Google Fonts.
- Projects you create are stored in the app's folder and are removed if you uninstall the app. Export a zip or push to a Git remote to keep a copy.
- Mobile IDE does not install the apps you build. It hands the APK to your Files app.
