AR Biosphere is an innovative discovery application prepared for Hacettepe University Biosphere Museum that brings the impressive creatures of nature together with visitors through augmented reality; by scanning the illustrations located in designated sections of the museum area with mobile devices, brown bears, Anatolian leopards, blue whales, and dinosaurs like T. rex come to life on the screen in a moving and interactive way, the animals' sizes can be compared with everyday objects, their weights can be perceived with fun metrics, and their movement characteristics can be observed. Users can take photos and videos within the application, and experience a personal discovery by recording the creatures they discover with the phrase "I discovered this". This work, which combines scientific accuracy with artistic expression, is an interdisciplinary application developed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Banu Bulduk Türkmen at Hacettepe University Fine Arts Institute, Graphic Arts Department, Proficiency in Art program. This artwork was produced as part of the art proficiency thesis titled “Augmented Reality Supported Animated Scientific Illustration: The Hacettepe University Biosphere Museum Example” conducted by Assoc.
