About this app

Based on the concept of creative economy, we have produced novel, relevant and culturally valuable content whose main ingredient is technology and creativity. In this context, from the General Archive of the Nation we created the “Tour of La Candelaria”, in Augmented Reality, to interact with it and have access to part of the information that resides in the documents that the General Archive of the Nation guards, highlighting some historical data and milestones.

The 'La Candelaria' neighborhood concentrates a large part of the history of Bogotá (the old Santafé, capital of the then Viceroyalty of Nueva Granada), as well as part of the cultural and administrative life of the country, which is why it becomes the scene perfect for a tour with augmented reality technology that tells fundamental aspects of some places in the capital.

For this we have selected some of the most emblematic places with which you can interact with sound, graphic, documentary material and some curious information that you may not know.

The points are: Plaza de Bolívar, Catedral Primada de Bogotá, Palacio de Justicia, Palacio de Liévano (Mayor's Office of Bogotá), National Capitol (Congress), Astronomical Observatory, Ministry of Culture, Casa de Nariño (Presidency of the Republic), Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, General Archive of the Nation, Palacio de San Carlos (Ministry of Foreign Relations), Cristóbal Colón Theater and Casa de la Moneda Museum - Banco de la República.

Remember that in order to take this tour you must locate yourself in the place, activate the camera, connect to the internet service and activate your GPS.

You can start from anywhere included in the tour, although it is recommended to start in the heart of the city, the Plaza de Bolívar.
