About this app

Welcome to Secrets of Dolenjska, a free AR (augmented reality) application that acts as a digital tourist guide to the Dolenjska region and at the same time presents a digitized cultural heritage. The detailed and interactive map of the region helps you find (and filter) a variety of options: from different points of interest and places to visit or stay to numerous gastronomical venues and recommended addresses for shopping, sport, and other activities.

Also, you can choose one of our suggested routes or »edutainment« experiences – of the town center of Novo Mesto and secret WW2 Base 20 as well. By downloading the additional content for each of them they both take you through history, offering you interesting and innovative insights into the life and work of the people of the past. They also include a special 5-star experience, of which you can learn more at the local Tourist information center.

NOVO MESTO ADVENTURE
Novo Mesto experience leads you through five stops and each is in the AR presented with the well-known person of the past, along with its role and the importance for the town's history. They all tell you a little more about their era, there is also a gallery containing some additional information and facts.

SECRET BASE 20
Base 20 experience on the other hand is a little more interactive, as it gives you a role to play. Dwell into the daily life and routine of the 1943/44 inhabitants of this never discovered complex, that served as a headquarters to the political leadership of the Slovenian resistance movement. Let the AR characters guide you through your exploration and prepare to fulfill your tasks as the story unraveles.
