The Tagins are one of the major tribal communities of Arunachal Pradesh in Northeast India, part of the wider Tani group and tracing their lineage back to Abotani, the shared ancestor honored across several Tani tribes. Most Tagin families live around Upper Subansiri district, with communities also settled in West Siang and Papum Pare.
The Tagin language carries the history and identity of the community forward. Pronunciation shifts a little from village to village, but speakers understand one another without much trouble — a small sign of how connected the community stays despite being spread across the hills.
This is an independent project made out of interest in the Tagin language and culture. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government body or official Tagin cultural organization.
