About this app

This wooden coffin belongs to Ibi, son of Ankh Hor. In the 7th century BC, he held the office of “Chief Steward” of the Palace of Queen Nitocris, daughter of Psamtik I.
The wooden coffin housed in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Antiquities Museum (BAAM 0829) was found by Erhart Graefe in 1970 in the superstructure of the tomb, and was published in the year 1990, in Das Grab des Ibi, Obervermogensverwalters der Gottesgemahlin des Amun (Thebanisches Grab NR. 36): Beschreibung und Rekonstruktionsversuche des Oberhaus; Funde aus dem Oberbau.
