The workbooks, storybooks, and celebration stickers work in tandem with the App to help children develop a deeper understanding of literacy (and mathematics!) concepts. Built by educational experts and reinforced with feedback from our customers, the Practice Pack program includes 5 Pre-reader, and 15 Learn to Read packs that include workbooks, stickers, storybooks, and in the first Pre-reader pack, flashcards that are sent to the home, monthly. Subscribers can customize how often they receive these shipments through their account dashboard to tailor the pacing to each family’s needs. Created in conjunction with the App, the Practice Packs allow children to engage in different modalities of learning, review the skills they’ve gained in the App, and practice hands-on skills—like writing and tracing—that are best mastered in a non-digital environment. My kids can't even get through one lesson on this app using their Amazon Fire tablets without it freezing up. It isn't just a one off instance either. I have 6 kids using it on 6 different devices. It happens to all of them every single time. To make matters worse, Hooked has now increased their monthly pricing. So now I'm paying for two over-priced subscriptions for an app that doesn't even work well. I'm very close to canceling.

Totally worth it. we purchased all 3, phonics, math, and spelling, plus the books. This is the best thing I have found to keep my son focused and make our homeschool lessons fun and productive. My 5 year old autistic son wasn't even speaking a few months ago, now he is a math wiz, can spell any word and can read full books. He can navigate the program easily, and the lessons in the books match right up with the ones on the program. It is an absolute joy to have in our home classroom.

1. The new "map" makes it hard to "scroll" back to where we are in our review. 2. I wish there was a lot more vocab for the "review games". My daughter has memorized what picture goes to what letter b/c they use the same words over and over... instead of practicing listening for the starting sound. 3. I wish I could opt out of the mini non-learning games between learning games. Aimless-games between learning-games makes the learning games feel less fun. 4. The stories honestly... stink.
