About this app

Table Math offers a streamlined approach to master memorization multiplication, addition, subtraction, and division tables. By optionally filtering out duplicate equations, you can maximize efficiency and save valuable study time.

Progress is monitored through a dynamic color-scoring system, while long-term retention is driven by Retrieval-Based Spaced Repetition.

How to use:

The selected number of the left column will be multiplied (or added, subtracted, divided) with the selected table on the right column.

You can change the operation (multiply, add, etc.) by selecting one of the [+ - x /] buttons.

When an equation is visible, press the green, orange, or red button to indicate how well you remember it. Only the selected number on the left column will change color. Use the following color codes:

Red: cannot remember or wrong answer.
Amber: takes too long to remember.
Green: can remember quickly.
Grey: not yet covered.

After a color is selected, the answer is shown. Then press Next for the next equation.

When Next is pressed, the highlighted numbers in the left and right column show the numbers used for the equation, except when in division mode because in division mode, the highlighted number in the left column is the answer.

The division equation works differently compared to add, subtract, and multiply. Instead of using the left column as an input for the equation, it is actually the answer. This way, the division is always part of the corresponding multiplication table.

The sequence of the numbers shown (the next equation) is always random. This is to prevent tables being remembered as a fixed sequence. The aim is to be able to remember all tables randomly, not sequentially.

The color selections are automatically saved and retrieved at startup.

Settings:

Random

If the Random checkbox is ticked and Next is pressed, a random equation from all tables is used (for the current + - x / operation). If Random is unticked, only equations from the current table are shown.

It is recommended to only use the Random feature when you reviewed all tables.

The random feature is designed in such a way that all combinations are covered and no equation is shown twice (unless the loop is finished).

Duplicates

If the Duplicates check box is ticked, some numbers on the left column will be ignored (greyed out) depending on the number combination selected. This is to prevent showing duplicates like 3x4 and 4x3.

Negative

When the Negative checkbox is ticked, negative answers are enabled, otherwise respective numbers on the left and right column are grayed out. This is only relevant for the minus (-) operation.

Show green

If Show green is ticked, all colors are allowed when pressing Next. If Show green is unticked, a green equation is not shown when Next is pressed (unless all numbers are green).

Clr

When clr (clear) is pressed, all colors will change to grey from the current selected table.

What’s new

-The sequence of numbers shown is now always random, not from bottom to top.
-Fixed a bug causing not all equations to be shown when Random is ticked.
-When Random is ticked, it will now also show gray numbers.
