Kokbok is a recipe book that lives on your phone.
Write your recipes down, photograph them, scan them straight out of a cookbook, or import them from a link — then cook from them offline, for as long as you keep the phone. No account, no sign-up, no subscription, no ads.
FOUR WAYS TO ADD A RECIPE
• Write it out — title, servings, prep and cook time, ingredients, method, tags and notes.
• Scan a cookbook page — photograph the page and Kokbok squares it up, reads it and hands you a draft to check. The reading happens on your phone.
• Import from a link — paste a recipe address and review the draft before anything is saved.
• Photograph a page — no typing at all. A picture of the page, given a name, that opens whole and zoomable.
YOUR LIBRARY
• Live search across titles, tags and ingredients.
• Tag filter chips and a favourites-only toggle, with favourites pinned to the top.
• One photo per recipe, rotatable for when the camera got it sideways.
• Group headings: a line ending in a colon, like "For the sauce:", labels the lines under it instead of becoming one of them.
• Four appearances — Light, Dark, Warm and Olive.
SHOPPING LIST
• Send a recipe's ingredients to the list. Everything arrives ticked, so you untick the two things already in the cupboard rather than ticking the other ten.
• Add items by hand, or paste a whole comma-separated shop and get a row each.
• Nothing is duplicated — anything already on the list is skipped.
BACKUP AND SHARING
• Back the lot up into one ordinary zip: recipes as plain readable JSON, photos as JPEGs. Save it wherever the system file picker can write, Google Drive included.
• Restoring merges and never deletes, so a mis-tapped restore costs you nothing.
• Share a single recipe as a file. The receiving phone needs no matching version, and it describes the file and asks before adding anything.
