About this app

CheatMaps is an app designed to track the spread of Cheatgrass within the Gunnison Valley, aiming to address the ecological challenges posed by its proliferation. Developed as part of the 2024 Western Colorado University & University of Colorado Boulder Partnership Computer Science Capstone project, in collaboration with the Gunnison Sagebrush Alliance; CheatMaps offers a solution for identifying Cheatgrass infestations.

Users log Cheatgrass they find via the app, providing a description along with a photo. Submissions undergo verification by experts, ensuring the accuracy of the data collected. This makes CheatMaps a valuable tool for researchers, land managers, and anyone passionate about preserving the ecological balance of the Gunnison Valley.

Join us in combating Cheatgrass invasions by downloading CheatMaps today and contributing to our collective conservation efforts!
