A SOLAR ECLIPSE ON YOUR PHONE THROUGH AUGMENTED REALITY. IT IS A DIGITAL PROPOSAL FOR SCIENTIFIC TOURISM. THE PROJECT IS TITLED "SCIENCE TO THE WIND: A LOOK AT THE SKY" AND IT IS DEVELOPED IN ARGENTINE PATAGONIA.

PROJECT TITLE: Design, planning and public-private management of scientific tourism initiatives on a local and regional scale.
PRODUCT BRAND: "SCIENCE TO THE WIND: A look at the sky"
-because it invites you to BUILD KNOWLEDGE with the knowledge of social groups and institutions in a space that is completed with dialogue, meeting and encounter in the virtuality of these times.
-Because IT VALUES THE WIND, which sometimes has a negative meaning since it interferes in some activities such as a day at the beach, a nautical or bicycle excursion or a sighting on board or from the coast. However, it is precisely in those "windy" days that scientific tourism offers a different option for recreation and learning.
-because it is a science communication proposal that seeks to promote reflections and concerns in the public about the SOCIAL ROLE OF SCIENCE, and in particular the Argentine Scientific System.
-because it comes to join the different scientific initiatives of the province and seeks to value existing tourist circuits and others still unexplored.
-because it is a COMPLEMENTARY PRODUCT to the main promoted tourist activities.
-because the tourist product involves both the URBAN and the RURAL and that makes it one of the few designed for this purpose.
BACKGROUND. The combination of tourism and science had its beginnings in developed countries, in order to involve people in a more direct and participatory way in the knowledge of their socio-environmental environment. This type of tourism seeks to offer a service aimed at a better understanding of nature and human societies from a scientific point of view. For its part, the Federal National Strategic Plan for Sustainable Tourism considers scientific tourism as a relevant tourism product that offers an economically self-sustainable alternative, while promoting the socialization of science. The importance and originality of this research and linkage project represents an innovative articulation between the community, tourism, science, education and productive networks.
WORKPLAN.
General purpose
Design, plan and execute a virtual scientific tourism proposal in Puerto Madryn and the province of Chubut. In this case based on the astronomical phenomenon of December 14 and in a pandemic situation.
Particular objectives
• Design and plan the proposal, in a participatory context and of integration of the sectors involved.
• Generate content and stories that allow you to safely enjoy the astronomical phenomenon.
• Develop a free mobile application that provides information and contains activities for the family.
• Encourage and promote the development of public, free and accessible scientific tourism.
WORKGROUP. The Science to the Wind project in its different versions, has as its articulating axis the collaborative and participatory work. In this version "Science in the Wind: a look at the sky" the sectors involved are: the Municipality of Puerto Madryn through the portfolios that involve Science and Tourism, the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Culture of Chubut, the Plaza del Cielo Foundation in Esquel and the Friends of Astronomy Foundation in Trelew. The Science to the Wind Project began in 2017 from the IPCSH (CCT-CONICET-CENPAT).
