Tunnel Tribulations is a puzzle rouge-lite where you dig your way to the center of the earth to find a Grand Treasure. You will need to make every move count due to having to clear a level within a certain number of turns. Along the way you can collect lesser treasures that you can use to upgrade your character to have an easier time on different runs.
Tunnel Tribulations takes place within a grid where the player is only able to move one square on the grid at a time initially. Control the main character by swiping the screen in one of the four cardinal directions. You’re constrained by a turn system which will determine how long you are able to move and continue playing. The game has rouge-lite elements such as procedurally generated levels and upgrades that you can use on future runs to reach the goal. Each floor is composed of different floor tile types that impact how you move through the level, so you’ll have to think more strategically.
