SO.F.I.A stands for Social Media and Faces of Artificial Intelligence. This is a short educational game (about 40 minutes) designed and edited by researchers of the ERC project “FACETS”, an acronym for Face Aesthetics in Contemporary E-Technological Societies. It was funded by the University of Turin as part of the "AI Aware" public engagement project and was created through collaboration between the Department of Philosophy, the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Humanistic Studies. Its aim is to disseminate, in a playful and accessible way, academic research and discoveries on our relationship with information and faces in the contemporary social and digital context. A communication context, this one of ours, in which artificial intelligence and artificial faces are often used to spread fake news, reinforce stereotypes and generate hate speech. This game shows its players how certain elements of today's communication context can have an influence on what we believe and the decisions we make.
