About this game

Forward Line is a turn based, medium weight, two player strategy board game with a World War II theme. Made with a great deal of research and testing distilled into a unique experience, Forward Line captures the essence of mid-twentieth century war strategy in a game that offers strategic depth, yet easy to learn, that can be played against a friend without a large time commitment.

The object of the game is to capture the cities of the world with your military units. In some ways the game is like chess, in that it is a game of positioning and maneuver; there is no random chance involved in determining whether a unit defeats an enemy unit. There are 10 types of military unit that have unique roles that must be combined to deceive, outrun, outwit and overwhelm your opponent.

Features:
Multiplayer mode over same device or internet.
Single player mode against the AI.
In game tutorial for learning the rules.
This game has ads and an in-app purchase to remove the ads.

I don't even like strategy games, yet Forward Line has had me hooked for awhile. the gameplay is like legos, simple on the surface, but when you start clicking the pieces together, it all becomes complex and you can have some major battles. My one recommendation would be a custom map maker for single player. the random map seed generator is fine, but occasionally I'd want to test my skill in a certain way, then spend 10 minutes to find a good map. Otherwise, I highly recommend!

This game is very fun, but I do think it can really be improved. The things I love are the roles and interactions of units and the supply chain system(this is what kept me searching for it over a year after remembering it). The main thing I think could be improved is the AI(currently too aggressive which makes them neglect to capture neutral cities behind their starting cities(which are very close to you a lot of the time))(They also don't use destroyers at all?)

Definitely a fun game, however I think some of the balancing is pretty odd, and also I think the base AI options could use some work (difficulty slider aside the city count.) I think some more content would be nice too, like adding buildings (bunkers, barbed wire, trenches maybe?) I do really like the mechanics of the game, and supply chaining is super fun. Would rate 4.5/5 if I could since my issues with the game aren't too crazy.
