Leveling up
Earn experience every time you eliminate an enemy. You do have a limited amount of life displayed in the bottom left side of the screen. If your life reaches 0, it's game over. Once you reach a new level, you will acquire skill points that can be used to upgrade unique skills. These differ for every character class where some increase magic powers while others increase critical chance. Dungeon crawl you way higher for better loot with the price of harder rogue enemies.

Manage your inventory
As you play OneBit Adventure, you will acquire all kinds of items during your trips. Every itemā€™s power is explained in the inventory. Some items will restore HP, others restore mana or give you temporary boosts. If you find yourself low on life or mana, you can stop at any given time and come here to replenish. Enemies move as you move in this turn-based roguelike game so it's important to have a strategy between each battle.

If you love 8-bit pixelated dungeon crawler games and are looking for something casual to play, then you should consider OneBit Adventure right now. It's meant to be a simply fun and challenging adventure game where you can level up, play around with unique play styles and skills to reach the furthest. Simple game with great features. Easy to pickup, and hard to put down. Significant lack of ads (in a very good way), and when I say significant, I MEAN significant. I've only ever encountered 2 ads, and those were of my own choice and were not shoved at me. My only complaint is with Enigma, as his skills cannot quite synergize with one another. For example, he can't use Blood Knight's double strike skill while wielding a bow. However, since he is a very new class, simply take this as feedback.

Not a traditional rogue-like, but it is certainly a lot of fun. Easy to pick up and play, not a lot of skill involved. The graphics are simple, but not unpleasant, the music could use some variety, but it is otherwise not bad. As far as monetization goes, it has become a bit aggressive since the game first released. There's a "VIP" membership that has A LOT of stuff locked behind it, and you need to rank up several levels in the membership in order to unlock the good stuff. That's 1 star off.

UPDATE: it seems like ads have greatly been reduced in frequency of appearance, which I greatly appreciate. Outside of the ads, the game is mostly ad-free, a unique quality to have on an app store full of ad-ridden games. I'm very much considering an in-game purchase, something I usually never do, just because of the quality of gameplay and the now (mostly) ad-free environment. All in all an excellent game, the ads, as far and few as they are, are keeping it from being a 5/5 in my opinion.

The game had ads in previous years. It was only removed because the ad networks were deprecated and recently, the game not having enough paying players to support an ad free version. Not many games allow players to remove ads for free like OneBit. You can compete in hardcore mode to gain even more VIP Xp.
