In Sonora, the player is challenged in a sensory environment where they need to react to sound stimuli with attention and precision. The mechanics involve sound recognition and quick responses. Through these activities, it is possible to perceive signs of hearing difficulties – all in a fun and light-hearted way.

⚠️ Important: Sonora is a screening support tool and does not replace clinical audiological exams. Its goal is to contribute to awareness and facilitate referral to specialists, if necessary.

📊 Why does this matter?

Hearing problems can go unnoticed during childhood and directly impact school performance, communication and sociability. Studies indicate that 50% of hearing loss could be prevented or minimized if there was an early diagnosis (Zocoli et al., 2006). However, high costs and low availability of devices make access to regular exams difficult.

Sonora was developed precisely to fill this gap: an affordable and educational solution to support families, educators and health professionals.
