About this game

What can supported communication mean for contact with your child or client? Discover it with the free game 'Learning through Supported Communication' (SOC). A product of Deelkracht, the knowledge collective in the field of auditory and communication disabilities.

Accessible introduction to Supported Communication
You can use AAC anywhere. But if you are just getting acquainted with it, it is nice if you can first work with it together in everyday situations. That is exactly what the game 'Learning through Supported Communication' (SOC) makes possible for you. With fun and humor, because ultimately OC is about making contact. Everything doesn't have to be perfect right away! Mainly use the game to discover what works well for you.

Everyday situations and in-depth information
In this game you start in a house and from there you navigate to different rooms: the bathroom, the bedroom, the kitchen, the living room and the attic. In every room you will find pre-programmed icons that you can use during everyday activities such as sleeping, reading, washing, eating or taking a walk. And in the attic? There is all kinds of in-depth information about supported communication for parents, caregivers and practitioners; tools to bring you closer to the transition to specialist AAC tools, if there is a need for this after playing.

Add icons yourself
Users can supplement the standard picto library with icons that they have drawn or photographed themselves. It is also possible to add your own audio fragments. This way you can have a party together and playfully find the form of supported communication that suits your situation.

'Learning through play about supported communication (SOC)' was made possible by support from ZonMW (grant number 637003001).
