São Paulo Futebol Clube, better known as São Paulo FC or simply São Paulo, is a Brazilian
multi-sports club in the city of São Paulo, capital of the state of the same name. It was
founded on January 25, 1930, having interrupted its activities in May 1935, and resumed
them in December of the same year.
In football, it is one of the most successful clubs in Brazil, and among its main titles are two
Intercontinental Cups and one Club World Cup (three world cups, an absolute record at
national level), three Copa Libertadores (a record national championship shared with
Flamengo, Grêmio, Palmeiras and Santos), one South American Cup, six Brazilian
Championships, one Brazilian Cup and twenty-two Paulista Championships.
