About this game

The "Sarmatian Wanders" application is based on the fictitious memories of a humble steward, who traveled around 17th-century Europe with his ward - young master Michał, the son of a Polish nobleman.

Travels around the most important urban centers in Europe in the 17th century. were a popular form of crowning the education of young Polish noblemen. During travels lasting several years, in addition to getting to know the monuments and culture of European countries, young nobles visited foreign courts, gained sophistication and perfected their skills in using foreign languages. This experience was very important for the Polish nobleman and supported the future career development at court or in the army. Such a journey with his brother Marek went on, among others 17-year-old Jan Sobieski - the future king of Poland.

"Sarmackie Wędrówki" - VR application, realized as part of the project "Continuum. Digital collections of Warmia and Mazury ”, to present in an attractive and interactive way elements of the culture of that era, she used the theme of an educational journey of a young nobleman, Michał. The application includes objects from regional museums, such as dishes from the Elbląg museum, which are presented in a virtual environment, constituting the background of the story told by the steward.

Playing the role of participants in the title journey, visit the most important urban centers of Europe for the practical education of a young nobleman of that time and look at them through their eyes. You will be able to help in preparing noble dishes for the feast in Lidzbark Warmiński, get to know the prevailing fashion at that time and learn about the obligatory elements of noble clothes by preparing Master Michał for a ball at the estate in Drogosze, and admiring the panorama from the cathedral of St. Nicholas in Elbląg to see how the city's appearance tells its story.
