About this app

The KanDrive app is the Kansas Department of Transportation's official traffic and traveler information app. The new KanDrive app provides up-to-date traffic information for interstates, U.S. routes and state highways across Kansas.

FEATURES:
• Hands-free, eyes-free audio notifications of upcoming traffic events and rest areas while you drive
• A zoom-enabled map with tappable traffic event icons and surrounding camera views
• Near real-time updates on traffic incidents, construction, weather and road closures
• Manage My KanDrive personalized accounts including saved routes, areas, camera views, and text/email alerts
• View current traffic speeds and road conditions
• View traffic cameras throughout the state. Sign up for a My KanDrive account to save cameras for easy access.
• Access to additional traveler information resources

NOTE: Continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease device battery life.

The primary responsibility of every driver is the safe operation of their vehicle. While traveling, mobile communication devices should be used only when the motor vehicle is at a complete stop, off the traveled portion of the roadway. Do not text and drive (it's against the law) or use this app while driving.

Overall I like the app, but when I am trying to choose one of the regions for push notifications,there is nothing present on the screen to say 'apply"or " okay" to confirm my choice . I thought maybe it was the font size on my phone, so I set it to small,but I still don't see my choice when I navigate away and come back. what am I missing (*:

this app USED to work but now all i see is a white screen when i select any camera. ive tried clearing cache, updating, and reinstalling. still no cameras and i dont understand why.

I appreciate the ability to see the freeway and understand traffic conditions. It would be helpful if I could receive alerts specific to my typical routes that indicate bad traffic or closures due to accidents.

What’s new

Introduces improved analytics for hands-free voice announcements. The information will be used to assess the usefulness of the announcements for impacting driver behavior. No personally identifiable information will be collected.
