The small book entitled The Glory of Women in Islam was deliberately written to support the struggle of Indonesian women in all areas of life, especially in the political field. Why is this book important? This is due to the fact that in society there is still a strong notion that Islam teaches the inequality of women and men. This erroneous assumption causes women to experience various forms of inequality and injustice, especially related to gender relations.

In addition, it is clear in society the efforts to castrate and shackle women's human rights, both as full citizens and as whole human beings who have dignity and worth. These efforts can also be seen structurally in the form of public policies in the form of local regulations that are discriminatory against women.

For example, local regulations prohibit women from going out at night, regional regulations prohibit wearing trousers, and regional regulations obligate headscarves for civil servants. Komrnas Perempuan in its 2013 Final Report mentions a total of 354 regional regulations and public policies that are discriminatory against women. It is very ironic because this happened during the reform era, when the state was committed to upholding democratic values ​​in all fields of development.

This book contains a clear message that all views of gender bias, bias on patriarchal cultural values ​​and feudal nuances must be removed and eliminated immediately in order to build a more democratic and more civilized future for the Indonesian people. This book also explains the importance of an accommodative interpretation of Islam towards human values, an interpretation that is cool, one-sided and friendly towards women.

The Islamic teachings presented in this book emphasize that the essence of Islamic teachings is monotheism, namely an acknowledgment that only Allah is worthy of worship.

With a commitment to monotheism, Rasulullah saw., liberated humans from the shackles of ignorance culture which is full of injustice, tyranny, and barbarity.
