Umar and Islamic Sovereignty
In the history of Islam, there is no person who is so often mentioned by name after Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam, like the name Umar bin Khattab. That name is mentioned with great awe and at the same time respect when it is associated with everything that is known about his characteristics and traits that are so noble and brilliant. If people talk about zuhud (leaving the pleasures of the world) even though that person is able to live happily, then people will remember Umar's zuhud. When people talk about justice that is pure without blemish, people will remember Umar's justice.
When talking about honesty, without discriminating whether close family or not, then people will remember Umar's honesty, and if someone talks about deep knowledge and religious laws, people will remember Umar. We read about it all in history books and many people think that it is exaggerated to the point of implausibility, because it is more like miracles which are usually attributed to prophets, not to great men whose prowess is well known.
None other than the cause because of the establishment of the Islamic Sovereignty at that time. Umar led the Muslims to replace Abu Bakr after the Riddah War ended, and after the Muslim forces had to face the forces of Persia and Rome on the borders of Iraq and Sham.
When Umar died, besides Iraq and Syria which had joined the Islamic Sovereignty, then it also included Persia and Egypt.
Thus the border has reached China in the east, Africa in the west, the Caspian Sea in the north and Sudan in the south. The establishment of the great Sovereignty in those ten years is of course a miracle. This miracle was evident after the two great empires, Rome and Persia which ruled at that time, fell to the hands of the Arabs who for years had been enemies with each other, had never calmed down and had never lived in peace.
