About this game

Enigmas of Art: Painting Illness is an educational and interactive game designed specifically for mobile devices. Born in the academic environment of UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), the project was developed with the main objective of showing how art, medicine, and science have been connected throughout history.

In command of this cultural journey, the player is invited to act as a true investigator. Their goal is to analyze works of art, historical scenarios, and hidden details to unravel mysteries in which art, medicine, and history intertwine. Each canvas is a challenge to their perception and knowledge!

Game Features:

- Educational narrative: explore how artists portrayed illnesses and other clinical conditions in their works throughout the centuries and learn about the painting, the artist, the clinical condition represented, and its treatment possibilities.

- Investigation mechanics: analyze the details of the paintings and discover the clinical condition depicted.

- Rewarding achievement system: unlock achievements as you progress and deepen your knowledge.

Important information for players:

The game features a user-friendly progression structure. The first phase allows you to familiarize yourself with the controls and interface in a relaxed way and is not considered for overall achievement metrics. The challenge and scoring mechanics come into play from the second phase onwards.
