About this game

Tafl games, also known as Hnefatafl or Viking Games, are ancient Nordic and Celtic strategy games. It is believed that Tafl games were played in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Britain, and Ireland before chess supplanted it in the 12th century.

Various versions of the game have been found, often with parts of the ruleset missing, which has led to many different rules and setups. This game contains some of the most popular versions like ArdRi, Brandubh, Hnefatafl, Tablut, Tawlbwrdd. There is also support for custom rules like Shield Wall, King Enclosure, Defender Fort, Weaponless King, etc

The game is free forever with no ads or in-app purchases.

Nice introduction but this AI is a bit stupid and takes a long time to 'think'. I have only tried the brandugh and tablut versions but even at level four the AI seems to make pointless moves and is easy to defeat. Increasing the difficulty level seriously increases the thinking time but not the quality of the move. I will give the the hardest level a go and select all the adverse option and see how I go. The game looks good and the options are well thought out.

I really really want to like this. It looks fantastic and the rule sets are great. Unfortunately the AI is really poor. Even as a beginner i was able to beat it. You can bump up the difficulty but then you have to wait a minute per move. I hope something can be done.

It is a good rendition of various games, but the AI takes too long if you set it to a reasonable difficulty. Even the addition of a button to skip the AI thinking time would make this (and others) a 5☆ review
