About this app

Learn the basics of French with instructions given in your mother tongue? Yes, it's possible with Basic-French.

Basic-Français was created to teach the basics of French in partnership with the City of Paris and the Ile de France Region, with European co-financing.

Basic-Français is an application that supports your first steps in learning French. Ludo and Vic, which were designed to represent all the peoples of this world and to promote gender equality, invite themselves into your daily life to help you discover the French language with the help of French dialogues adapted to the life of every day and numerous illustrations to help you associate new words in French.

Basic-French removes the barrier of writing by stating the instructions for the exercises, in your mother tongue. Indeed, you can learn the basics of French regardless of your school level. Basic-French can be used even by allophones and in languages that do not have an alphabet.

Since the explanations are set out in a language you understand, this significantly reduces your stress level and allows you to acquire the educational content more quickly. There are also many activities, including voice recognition, to improve your pronunciation, facilitate understanding and memorization and make learning more fun!

Basic-Français covers the first level (A1) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which allows you to acquire the means of communication necessary to progress quickly in your learning of French.

Basic-French does not consume your data plan. All activities are fully operational without an internet connection. A very important and rare feature to find in apps these days.
