Only 4 stars because of beta. If it were ironed out a d fine tuned as a complete game in the direction its headed I'm sure it would/could be a 5 star game. Some of the physics/Interactions between my character and the environment tend to be strange with my teleporting to the top of objects and "falling" off of them or being launched from them like a cork under pressure. The buttons are a little less sensitive or maybe not placed 100% accurately on the UI. Small things that can be fixed. GJ!

Thanks for your feedback Austin. Whilst I have been busy in recent weeks, I will be releasing a 'quality of life' update for the next release. Hopefully addressing a lot of the shortcomings you have mentioned. Especially in regards to physics and falling off the map. Cheers, James

I think Dread Rune is one of those games that should NEVER stop being worked on and improved! There is greatness in this game! The destructible dungeon environments and colorfully animated creatures really stand out to me! I think the graphics are fine [different] and the controls have been improved! Excellent game! I paid money to get rid of the ads!

The physics are a bit wonky at times, and the combat can be a bit iffy with the aim and hitboxes, but all in all this is a pretty solid game. I play a lot of roguelikes, and my very first run ended with killing the Final Boss, so it definitely has an approachable and agreeable initial difficulty. A bit of polish on the physics, and maybe some better tooltips for food items, such as how much they heal and recover hunger, and this game could easily be 5 stars.
