About this app

The Storm Cone is an immersive artwork by artist Laura Daly, with new music composition by Lucy Pankhurst, that reveals the lost bandstands in our municipal parks and explores their forgotten histories. At its centre is a journey through music and sound that considers our relationship with the past, while charting the fading away of a brass band during the interwar years (1918-1939).
During The Storm Cone experience, remain aware of your surroundings. Please avoid pointing your device at other people and respect their privacy. Children should be supervised at all times.

Such a clever immersive AR app that transports you back to the music from lost bandstands You listen to 360 degree sound of a band performing an ensemble while the AR let's you see a virtual skeleton of the bandstand exactly where it used to be. You can also follow a written narrative on your phone whilst listening to the whole experience fully immersive. So clever! Take a trip to Peel Park at Salford University get the app stick your headphones on and off you go! Just look for the sign!
