About this game

Silabz is a video game that exercises and reinforces syllabic segmentation in an entertaining way. This aspect is a component of syllabic awareness, the third of four levels into which phonological awareness is divided, and is essential in learning to read. To make this exercise attractive, Silabz introduces Bibi, a friendly bee who will teach the players to beat a drum and count the syllables in the names of the objects that will be presented. Each time the player guesses the number of syllables, they will keep the item in their collection and some items will also perform a fabulous trick or action. Silabz is designed for girls and boys with typical language development between 3 and 5 years old, as well as for older girls and boys with difficulties in language acquisition. Thinking of its audience, its design is oriented to be played in a short period of time.
