In 1998, Northwest Arkansas's first Spanish-language newspaper, La Prensa, was created to provide the Hispanic community of Northwest Arkansas with a voice and source of relevant news. In 2009, La Prensa merged with the newspaper Noticias Libres, forming La Prensa Libre. Today, the commitment continues to make La Prensa Libre the best Spanish-language news source in Northwest Arkansas, the River Valley, and Southwest Missouri.
