About this game

Incoming! Here comes the data. Here come the hackers. The world needs you, our unlikely hero… the humble router. Grab incoming data packets and route them to their destination. Drop too much data and your network will collapse.

The award-winning virtual reality (VR) educational game, Network Collapse, has been reimagined and expanded for mobile! The VR version, which won a Gold Award from the 2019 International Serious Play Awards, was just the beginning. In the mobile version of Network Collapse, data traveling over a network is represented by colorful boxes speeding along conveyor belts, flying through the air, and racing through tubes. It’s up to you to shepherd the packages safely to their destinations or risk crashing the system.

You start as a simple home router with just two cable connections. As you level up, connections are added and the data flow increases. Wi-Fi and optical-fiber connections further increase network speed and traffic. More traffic increases the risk of harm to your network through computer viruses and Denial-of-Service attacks. Turn on your antivirus or firewall to protect your network or risk a total Network Collapse.

At the heart of this experience, you’ll learn how data travels across networks around the world. Each of the 12 levels begins with a short educational cut scene that teaches basic network concepts. Those concepts will then be integrated into the gameplay, which is increasingly complex, challenging, and engaging!

Beat all 12 levels to unlock endless mode. How do your skills stack up? Try to reach the top of the leaderboards in endless mode.

Designed with the middle school learner in mind, Network Collapse has something for everyone and is fun for players of all ages.
