ROTEM Interpreter is a decision support tool for healthcare professionals to interpret a patient's rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM) results.
ROTEM is a point-of-care viscoelastic test that evaluates clotting in real time on whole blood: how the clot forms, its firmness, and whether it degrades, through its channels (EXTEM, INTEM, FIBTEM, APTEM, HEPTEM) and parameters (CT, CFT, A5/A10, MCF, ML). It is used to guide transfusion in trauma, cardiac surgery, postpartum hemorrhage, and severe perioperative bleeding.
How it works: You transcribe the values displayed by the device, and the app helps you interpret them.
• Live Temogram: As you type, the clot morphology for each channel is drawn, connecting the numbers to the image.
• Automatic interpretation: Identifies key patterns: hyperfibrinolysis, fibrinogen deficiency, thrombocytopenia or platelet dysfunction, coagulation factor deficiency, heparin effect, and hypercoagulability.
• Suggested management with dosage: Translates each finding into a practical recommendation and calculates the indicative dose of fibrinogen (based on weight and target A5 increase) and platelets.
• Clinical report: Combines the tetragram of all channels in parallel, coagulation times (CT/CFT), and fibrinogen report into a single view, ready to save or share with your team.
• Step-by-step EXTEM/FIBTEM management algorithm with zoom and pan capabilities.
• Integrated guide: test portfolio, diagnostic patterns, fibrinogen calculation, and an evidence and guidelines section (Cochrane, European Trauma Guidelines, ESAIC, EACTS/EACTAIC, NICE, OBS2, and pediatric ranges) with links to each source.
• Interpretation history saved only on the device.
• Works offline. Available in Spanish, English, and French. Light and dark mode.
• No account required and does not collect personal data.
Targeted for intensivists, anesthesiologists, emergency physicians, hematologists, residents, and blood bank staff.
Important notice: ROTEM Interpreter is an educational and decision support tool. It is not a medical device, does not perform diagnoses, and does not replace clinical judgment or correlation with the patient's context. Reference ranges and doses are guidelines and may vary depending on the laboratory, reagent, and local protocol; always verify them.
