About this app

AccessGallery is a photo and video gallery built from scratch for blind and visually impaired people. Each screen was designed to work seamlessly with screen readers, with descriptive labels, status change announcements, and generous touch targets.

ACCESSIBILITY AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FEATURES

AI image description — receive an audio description of what appears in each photo.

Video audio description — the app generates a narration synchronized with the video, describing the scenes as you watch.

"Read text" (OCR) — read aloud the text that appears within a photo (documents, signs, labels, packaging).

"Ask about the photo/scene" — ask open-ended questions about a photo or the current frame of a video, in a multi-question conversation.

Camera Framing Assistant — face detection on the device itself, which speaks the position and number of faces to help you aim the camera before taking the photo. Works offline, without sending images to the internet.

Photos and videos together on the Home and Albums screens.

Media filter on the home screen: all, only photos, or only videos.

Opening photos and videos from other apps ("Open with").

Organization into albums.

Choice of narration voice from the voice synthesis engines installed on the device.


PRIVACY AND CONTROL

AI features use the Google Gemini API and only work after YOU configure your own API key, securely stored only on your device.

The camera assistant's face detection happens 100% on the device.

The app does not display ads and does not create an account or profile.
