I recently got this timer. It allows you to save your times during your training sessions. This gives you a bench mark to help improve every time your at the range for self defense or competition. I like the large display on your cell phone. Much easier to read than timers with the small windows. I also liked the fact that the timer can be placed on the shooter but be activity and operated from your cell phone. I like that it is rechargeable. Worked great.

App is ok. It's simple but very unpolished. Feels more like a beta. Announcer volume is inconsistent and very low. Unusable with ear pro. Blue tooth unit feels cheap and has it's electronics exposed to the elements. The beep volume is also very low compared to other timers. The on/off button is protrudes too much and is easily hit when running with the unit mounted to the shooter. The start button is 3d printed and looks/feels like it was made from a really cheap printer. V1 3.5mm jack unit is 3d printed from the same printer that made the start button on the Bluetooth unit. Mine had a huge gap where 2 halves of the timer body meet, exposing the internal electronics. It also arrived heavily scratched. Its too bad. I like the idea of using your phone as a timer and really wanted to like these. I am disappointed by the end result. Everything feels more like a beta test version as opposed to a final product.

RangeTech does everything my timer costing 2X does—but does it better—plus much more. Older reviews may have been accurate for the product at that time but the new version is an evolutionary step. (Note: you must have a RangeTech timer for the app to work.) New version was released the end of 2019: It connects via Bluetooth not a phono jack. The timer issues the tone and detects the shots. Your phone/this app controls settings and records and stores data. Can’t condense all the cool features.
