QuestBook. is a series of next-generation educational materials designed for both academic educators and self-taught readers interested in the visual arts. The book, Colorimetry, features a distinctive design that moves away from the traditional textbook format. Its graphics are integrated as background illustrations, while the text exists on a separate reading layer. The book’s content is presented in articles. By accessing the built-in cameras on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, our Karnal app recognizes each article and triggers a third layer of reading: an interactive augmented reality experience. Each experience is accompanied by instructions and additional content beyond the printed material, introducing a fourth layer of reading within the app. This layer expands the publication with extra texts available in multiple languages. To enhance usability, our platform can convert printed text into audio through a multilingual synthetic voice, reading it aloud via our text-to-voice system.
