About this app

This Android application is an explanation of the ablution of the Prophet according to 4 schools of thought by Isnan Ansory, Lc., MA. In PDF format.

Ablution of the Prophet According to 4 Schools

A. Definition of Wudu

The word ablution with the letter waw which is dhommah- in Arabic, comes from the word al-wadha'ah which means al-hasan which means goodness, and also means an-nadhzafah which means cleanliness. Apart from that, the term wadhuu is also known in fiqh by pronouncing the letter waw, which means water used for ablution.

Whereas the meaning of ablution in fiqh, scholars define it with several different editorials, including:

Ibn Maudud al-Maushuli al-Hanafi, a Hanafi scholar, defines ablution as follows:

Washing and sweeping on certain limbs.

Ad-Dirdir al-Maliki, a scholar of the Maliki school of thought, defines ablution as follows:

Purify by using water that covers certain limbs, namely 4 limbs with a certain procedure.
