Sheikh El-Sayed Saeed, an Egyptian Quran reciter and one of the most prominent figures in this field, was born in the village of Mit Marja Salsil in the Gamalia district of Dakahlia Governorate on Sunday, the first of Rabi' al-Awwal 1362 AH (March 7, 1943). He memorized the entire Quran by the age of seven. He traveled to several countries around the world to recite the Quran, including the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, South Africa, Iran, and Switzerland.
