The history of Rádio Cultura FM in Novo Progresso begins in 2003, with the founding of Associação Amigos de Novo Progresso, a philanthropic entity with the aim of providing relevant social work to the less privileged and defending their social rights.
The AANP, formed by people linked to the local press, realized the creation of a licensed broadcaster would be the best way to maintain uninterrupted social work in the municipality.
It was 5 years of a lot of struggle, expenses, disappointments until finally obtaining authorization from the Ministry of Communications and Rádio Cultura FM 87.9 being inaugurated, on April 30, 2008.
Furthermore, Rádio Cultura FM 87.9 is a partnership between the population, campaigns and fights for citizens' rights. It is a partner with class and representative entities in the municipality, opening up all the space for them to publicize all their actions there. It is a partner with religious entities, being open to all faiths and beliefs without distinction.
But Rádio Cultura FM 87.9 is also a renowned radio station with an absolute audience in Novo Progresso - PA.
