About this game

Wild Hive is a bee colony roguelite driven by a ruthless honey market. Grow your hive, hatch a swarm of worker bees, and sell the honey they make on a realistic stock market. The honey quota climbs every year, and the year you miss it, your run is over.

You must send your bees foraging flowers in procedurally-generated locations, from the safety of Bluebell Woods to the rich, risky Alpine Meadows. Bee careful! They might not return home.

Then sell the harvest when the honey price peaks on the stock market.

Under the picture-book art is a deep engine builder. Silo upgrades, Royal Seals, and stock market bets stack into a colony that runs seamlessly, until the wasps come to tear it apart. Workers charge, mercenaries hold the line, and when the last defender falls they go for the Queen. If she dies, so does the colony. Wild Hive offers endless replayability.

Ratings and reviews

I've only played a little bit so far, but I really enjoy it. It's just simple enough to pick up quickly, but not too simple that you get bored. I like the artstyle too of the game and the stock market esque selling system. The only problem I've had is the hitbox with the combs, they get really difficult to tap, whether it be to collect the honey or to upgrade them. It makes the combo system difficult, and a little stressful to pull off, but it's not gameplay destroying, just a minor problem.

So, it's a very fun game, however it could use more. I don't see the need to play on harder maps as base map is just fine, I don't see the need to play on anything harder. It would be better if there was a permanent upgrade system. Stuff like more bee health, more nectar collected, etc. Or even having base upgrade tokens and having a better upgrade system with those, like upgrading the overall percentage of the tokens, or an unlocking system for them.

Needs better UI. Needs bigger text. unable to exit game easily. Too many badges. market doest change enough in a meaningful way. Unable to pay royal tribute even if enough honey to sell or coins available, game just instant over if you forgot to do it manually before winter. Good concept and is interesting but why frame game as if it was meant as a pay wall feemium game if asking for a set price? i feel game price a bit high for how deep this game is. i have seen much better for the price.
