Wow, the reviews are certainly polarized on this one. And yeah, I can tell that most of them are identical and obviously fake; shame on the developer. However, I will say this, it worked for me. Hold it over an outlet and watch the number on the display change, then slide it on the wall around the outlet and look for where the number changes similarly. That's where the wire goes. Okay, it might not help you if you want to drill into a blank wall somewhere, but if you're working near an outlet, yeah, it can help. Those who say it doesn't work, do they have the required hardware in their phone? Although I'd hope the app would realize this and say "Nope, this isn't gonna work, sorry, your phone isn't up to the job."

It worked for me. I was able to locate a wire beneath my floor made of 2x6's, and within an inch of accuracy. Had to observe a little bit and use my brain to figure out how it reacted to current flow. If you say it doesn't work maybe try not expecting everything to perform miracles and do a little problem solving of your own. Don't know why I would need to say this, but first make sure current is flowing through the wire you're trying to find!
