About this game

Ruins of Duality is a captivating 2D puzzle-platformer adventure where intelligence, timing, and strategy are the keys to survival. Deep within a forgotten temple buried in ancient ruins, a mysterious event has split a single soul into two spiritual beings. One becomes Luma, the spirit of light, and the other becomes Umbra, the spirit of shadow. Bound together by destiny yet separated by form, these two spirits must work together to escape the temple’s dangerous chambers and restore the balance between light and darkness.

The temple is filled with ancient mechanisms, hidden paths, magical barriers, and dangerous traps designed to test both skill and logic. Every room inside the temple is a puzzle waiting to be solved. Players must carefully observe their surroundings and use the abilities of both spirits to progress through increasingly complex challenges. The deeper you travel into the ruins, the more mysterious and dangerous the temple becomes.

At the heart of the game is a unique switching mechanic. Players can control only one spirit at a time while the other remains frozen in place. This mechanic creates a strategic puzzle experience where positioning, planning, and timing are essential. To solve each chamber, players must learn how to place one spirit in the right location before switching to the other. Sometimes Luma must activate a glowing mechanism while Umbra navigates through a hidden passage. In other situations, Umbra may need to reach a shadow gate while Luma holds a pressure plate open. The puzzles require both spirits to cooperate even though they can never move at the same time.
