About this app

You read the verse. You know every word in it. You still don't know what it means.

Parallel Bible: Audio & Notes was built for exactly that moment. It keeps Scripture in the center of the screen and brings the context to it, so understanding a passage no longer means closing the Bible and opening three other apps.

THREE LEVELS OF CONTEXT, ALWAYS ATTACHED TO THE TEXT
• Verse study - historical setting, meaning, application, selected terms from the original languages, and related passages, for 32 verses covered in depth.
• Chapter explanation - structure, themes, key verses and reading time, for 29 chapters.
• Book profile - traditional authorship, period, genre, theme and background, for all 66 books.

Nothing is invented on the fly. Every explanation comes from an editorial study library that ships inside the app, and the interface tells you honestly when a passage is not yet covered.

SEE HOW SCRIPTURE CONNECTS
An interactive map of related passages, drawn as a graph you can actually move through. Tap a node and you are reading that verse. It is the fastest way to see that a theme runs across books - and the reason a passage stops feeling isolated.

TWO TRANSLATIONS, SIDE BY SIDE
When a verse is hard, a second rendering often settles it. Compare any two
editions in parallel columns or interleaved verse by verse - useful for study,
for teaching preparation, and for anyone who reads in two languages.

FIND IT IN SECONDS
Indexed full-text search across the edition you are reading. Search a word, a
phrase, a book name or a reference like "John 3:16" - in the language of that edition, with or without diacritics.

117 EDITIONS, 69 LANGUAGES
King James Version, American Standard, World English Bible, Young's Literal,
Cornilescu, Reina-Valera 1909, Louis Segond 1910, Almeida, Diodati, Riveduta, Luther, Elberfelder, Schlachter, Russian Synodal, Textus Receptus, the Septuagint and the Clementine Vulgate - among many others.

The interface is fully translated into eight languages: English, Romanian,
French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese and Hebrew, including right-to left layout. The complete study library is available in English, Romanian and German; in other languages the Scripture and the interface are localized while the study material is shown in English, clearly marked.

STUDY THAT STAYS YOURS
• Notes written against a specific verse, not lost in a general notebook.
• Colour highlights and bookmarks, gathered in one collection.
• Your reading place saved, and one tap to return to it.
• Progress based on the chapters you have actually opened.

All of it is stored on your device. There is no account to create and nothing is
uploaded anywhere.

LISTEN, AND READ WITHOUT SIGNAL
• Chapter narration with seek, playback speed and automatic advance, with
lock-screen controls. Audio is streamed, so it needs a connection.
• Download a whole book to read later without internet - on a plane, on the
underground, or anywhere the signal gives up.

BUILT FOR LONG READING
A warm paper mode for daytime and a true OLED black mode for night. Focus mode removes everything but the text. Font, size, line spacing, alignment, drop caps and continuous prose are all yours to set. Swipe to move between chapters.

BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD
Bible text and audio are fetched from online sources, so the first opening of a chapter needs a connection; saved books and downloaded chapters then read offline. The app is free and supported by occasional full-screen ads.

Open a verse you have never understood. Read what stands behind it.
