The Alethiometer was invented by Heinrich Khunrath in Germany in the 17th century with the idea to be used for astrological purposes, however the oracle already was looking magical and promissor.

The fortune teller device was improved later by inserting symbols, with this the Alethiometer was ready to find answers and transform the destiny of who owns it.

To interpret the Alethiometer Magic Oracle does not require a skill or study. The way to be part of this experience is just to choose the symbol which matches the most with your doubt or question by selecting it through the silver pointer.

To rotate the silver pointer clockwise, touch and hold the right side of the Alethiometer or touch the left side, to rotate it anti-clock wise.

Each time you stop at a symbol you will see its theme and meaning on the top of the screen.

When you are ready, touch the center of the Alethiometer app, which will start the sequence to get your answer.

Let's take an exemple, if your question is: Should I travel next summer? You can choose the HORSE symbol - Europe, Journeys, Fidelity. The needles of the Alethiometer will begin to move around the dial and stop at some symbols, which will get certain meanings and form the sequence of the answer. It is very important to use your intuition and feeling to interpret the response. Pay attention in the order of words and focus for meaning in each one. In this case, the Alethiometer has chosen the words: Change, Protection, Truth, Autumn. You must put those meanings together and create the final answer by association and interpretation: Wait, maybe it's better to travel during the Autumn.

The app is fabulous. The ads killed it. EDIT!! I uninstalled, reinstalled, and when the page came up that says you can make ad choices, this time I kept tapping , like 7 times! on the left of the slider , each time, and finally the sliders moved and I could refuse. At first, I could not get them to move. But I would still be glad for a paid version, and see what you come up with!

After finishing the HDM BBC series, I was desperate to find an app that simulated the alethiometer. This is a gorgeous looking app that some drawbacks that I hope will be improved in future updates -- the main being that this app only has one dial for the user to 'input' their question, instead of three like in the books and show. It also doesn't remember settings, so I have to repeatedly turn the sound off each time I turn it on. It's super fun to play with otherwise!!

It needs three needles that can be set for inputs and then the response needle swings between different symbols as output. Whereas this app somehow got it back to front and has only one needle able to be set for the input.
