Wagotabi is your daily companion for learning Japanese from scratch, at your own pace, and with maximum immersion. Learn to read, write, and understand Japanese in context, while retaining Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji. Use your Japanese skills to progress in the adventure offered by this educational game.

Ratings and reviews

It's good for the most part. I don't like that when you are challenged and you get a question wrong, it doesn't show you what you got wrong. It goes red and then immediately flashes to the next question, I've failed the same question now 4 times in a row, preventing me from advancing through the game.

I am making my way through this game, about a week or so in, and I'm loving it so far. As someone that has had to study Japanese for work and eventually forgot most of it once I stopped actually using it, this is a godsend and a lot of it is coming back to me. Gameplay is fun and gameifies the learning experience, moving the plot along by introducing a new concept or vocab. I practice my writing by entering the kana using a drawing keyboard, I just wish I had the option for kanji as well...

It's not the full 'game' so do bear in mind that when purchasing but the developers do appear to be adding content fairly regularly. What is there however is very engaging, fun and educational. You're taught Japanese concepts in a very context driven and interactive environment to help with retention. All three writing systems are used, including Kanji. That may sound daunting but it's probably the best way to learn them. Looking forward to playing/learning more!
