A castaway, an island that says nothing, and a notebook no one can read. Crossword: Mystery Island is a free crossword puzzle game where every grid you solve tears off a piece of the story. A letter game, a word search, a crossword to fill in — with an ending at the end of it.

CONNECT THE LETTERS ON THE WHEEL
The letters wait on a wheel. Connect them with your finger, one to the next, and the word drops into the grid. Crossword puzzles that are easy to pick up and hard to put down, with puzzles from four to ten letters and a vocabulary that widens without you noticing. The first grids are easy; after that the crosswords get more difficult, grid after grid, at your own pace. Words you find outside the grid count too: they are the bonus words, hidden words that are not in the crossword, and they pay in tokens.

A STORY, NOT JUST A PUZZLE
You are not alone on this island. A castaway tells it, a notebook gains a page at every step, and the symbols on the first page end up meaning something. That is what sets this crossword game apart: there is an ending, and it is earned grid after grid.

THE ISLAND OPENS UP
The map lies under fog. Every crossword you finish pushes it back a little: a beach, a river, a volcano, markers lighting up one by one. Between two puzzles the island holds other trials — bombs, pairs to match, a gold rush — and each one pays in tokens.

Hunting the right word in a handful of letters is brain training dressed up as relaxation. Five minutes in a queue or an hour in the evening: easy crosswords wake up your memory for words, the difficult grids put it to work. Getting started is easy: a wheel, a finger, and the first word is in. Tokens pay for hints when a grid will not give in. There are two kinds of help: a letter at random, or the letter you point at. Hearts are your lives and come back on their own. The game is free, speaks 26 languages and plays entirely offline: on the train, on a plane, with no signal, the puzzle is there. Each language has its own crossword dictionary.
