Chain Loom is a calm logic puzzle about discovering a hidden rule. A chain of symbol nodes sits in front of you, and every pair of adjacent nodes must follow a single secret transformation. Your only clue comes from testing: pick two adjacent nodes and learn instantly whether they match the rule. No directions, no goals in plain sight - just careful observation and deduction.
How to play
- Test any adjacent pair to check whether it obeys the hidden rule. Each test costs one step, so spend them wisely.
- Swap two selected nodes to rearrange the chain, and undo restores your last move without refunding a test.
- When every link follows the rule, press Weave to submit your full chain.
- If you submit with a broken link, the app highlights the exact spots to reconsider and you can try again.
Every symbol carries four observable attributes - shape, inner pattern, rotation and size - and the hidden rule may change one, several, or all of them at once. Each round is generated locally with a random rule and a shuffled chain, so no two rounds are ever the same and there is always at least one valid solution.
Two ways to play
- Campaign: twenty guided levels that introduce the rules one concept at a time, starting with a simple shape cycle and building up to combined multi-attribute transformations.
- Random Challenge: endless rounds drawn from the full rule library with between four and seven nodes, perfect for short sessions and for beating your own record.
Score and progress
- Finish a round to score points: a base score plus a bonus for each unused test, with a small deduction for slow play.
- Win three rounds in a row to activate a reasoning multiplier for your next wins.
- The Rule Grimoire tracks all thirty rule variants. Each completed round reveals the rule you used, gradually filling your collection.
- Progress, scores and discovered rules are saved on your device, so everything works fully offline.
Chain Loom is designed for the calm, thinking moments of the day - a commute, a break, or a quiet evening. It rewards careful strategy rather than speed, and there is always a reason to come back and outsmart your own highest score.
